ABJ Sep 9 - BP the company, whose explosion caused the world’s biggest Mexican gulf oil spill, has blamed contractors for the spill. The oil giant admitted to being partly at fault for April’s explosion, but also blamed other companies they were working with, naming the rig owner, Transocean and cement contractor Halliburtion.

BP says a bad cement job is partly to blame as well as the failure of a barrier at the bottom of the well.

BP’s chief executive Tony Haywards, who was fired after the spill, said to press, “‘It is evident that a series of complex events, rather than a single mistake or failure, led to the tragedy. Multiple parties, including BP, Halliburton and Transocean, were involved.’
